Our
Association recently ran the most successful event ever held by our
industry. This year we decided to depart from the accepted format for
every aspect of the event. One of these aspects was to hire a
professional Master of Ceremonies. Our choice was Mr Graham Hyman.
None of us had worked with a professional MC in the past and we were
all conscious of the extra costs involved and the impact this could have
on the event if ii went badly. Needless to say, everything went
brilliantly.
Graham proved himself to be a consummate professional who was able to
cope with everything thrown at him. He was well prepared, right from
organising initial meetings to get to know each other and establishing a
working relationship to wishing our delegates a safe trip home.
Graham's correspondence, speaker preparation and willingness to learn
about our industry showed him to be an excellent choice for our Master
of Ceremonies.
As any event organiser knows, the myriad of things which can go wrong
during a conference, (and which usually do) can be exhausting. Under
very difficult circumstances and with an international audience, Graham
kept us on schedule for three days. Despite some speakers going under or
over their allotted presentation time.
His style and quality of communication meant each of our speakers
felt truly welcome as they were nursed through their presentations.
Graham's ability to focus an audience back to attention between
presentations and after breaks, meant both our speakers and delegates
received value for their contributions.
Graham's presentation itself was thought provoking and relevant.
Knowing that should the worst happen, we had a competent, entertaining
speaker to fill in any holes in the programme was a tremendous relief to
us all.
Graham was at the venue early every day to check the programme with
us and the audio visual staff. His professional attitude was an integral
part of our event, and I cannot imagine it could have been nearly as
successful, without his contribution. I would not hesitate to recommend
Graham as your Master of Ceremonies and with the experience of using him
for our event, would encourage any event not to proceed without him. I
